Who we are and what we do
Ownbyo is a technology marketplace that helps people discover property, publish listings, request stays and make protected introductions. Unless a specific service says otherwise, Ownbyo is not the property owner, landlord, tenant, broker, developer, hotel, legal adviser, surveyor or escrow agent.
Accounts and verification
You must provide accurate information, keep credentials and OTPs private, and be legally able to enter the transaction you request. Verification reduces impersonation risk but does not guarantee a person’s conduct, financial capacity, property title or listing accuracy. We may request more information, restrict contact tools, suspend an account or refuse a listing to protect the marketplace.
Listings and owner responsibilities
A person listing property confirms that they are authorised to do so and that descriptions, availability, price, charges, photos, amenities, approvals and contact details are current and lawful. Material facts, defects, restrictions, occupancy limits and applicable registration details must not be concealed. Listings go live only after administrative review, but review is not legal certification or endorsement.
Buyer, tenant and guest responsibilities
Inspect the property and independently verify identity, title, encumbrances, permissions, RERA status where applicable, contracts, taxes, society rules, neighbourhood conditions and total price before paying or signing. Do not bypass the platform to obtain or publish another person’s private data, scrape listings, misuse reviews or make unlawful or discriminatory requests.
Content and acceptable use
You keep ownership of material you submit and grant Ownbyo a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, resize, display and moderate it for operating and promoting the service. Submit only content you have rights to use. We may remove deceptive, unsafe, infringing, duplicate or unlawful content and retain evidence where needed for disputes or legal duties.
Fees, payments and taxes
Any platform fee, deposit, rent, booking amount, tax or refundable amount must be shown before confirmation. Payment features may be provided through an authorised third-party provider. Method availability varies and a payment is not complete until confirmed. Users remain responsible for applicable taxes and transaction documentation.
Liability and disputes
Use the marketplace with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by law, Ownbyo is not responsible for off-platform promises, property condition, title defects, financing, service interruptions, indirect loss or user conduct. Nothing here excludes a right that cannot legally be excluded. Raise a ticket first so we can preserve records and attempt a fair resolution. Indian law applies and disputes are subject to courts having lawful jurisdiction where Ownbyo operates, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
Changes and contact
We may update features and these terms prospectively. Material changes will be dated and communicated where appropriate. For questions or grievances, email hello@ownbyo.com or raise a ticket on the contact page.
This product copy is a practical operational policy, not legal advice. Ownbyo should have Indian counsel review it before accepting live transactions or payments.
